Marksmen Draw “First Blood” in Rocky v. Rambo Series

Macon, GA – Macon would not have the same fortune they had the night before as Fayetteville rebounded with a 4-1 win to take the second of back-to-to-back games. Taylor Best recorded a hat trick to lead Fayetteville to the win.

Best had the first goal of the game midway through the first to give his squad a 1-0 lead. However, just over a minute later, the Mayhem tied it at 1-1 when Devin Brink (11) scored for the second straight night to make it a new game. With two and half minutes left in the first period, it was Taylor Best (12) with his second goal of the period to make it a 2-1 game, a lead his team would not give up.

With a quick strike in the second just 45 seconds in, Best (13) completed the hat trick and gave his team a 3-1 lead.

The lone goal in the third was an empty netter by Zach Remers (7) to seal the 4-1 victory for the Marksmen.

Macon now heads out on the road for six straight games with the first stop against the same Fayetteville Marksmen to also play on back-to-back nights on March 11 and 12. They return home on March 25 and 26 for two straight games against the Vermilion County Bobcats.
