Mayhem Ink Two New Tryout Agreements

MACON, GA – The Macon Mayhem announced two new signings to the team, Jamie Bucell and Henry Johnson. Both players have signed professional tryout agreements that will last five games.

Jamie Bucell, standing at 5’11” 185 lbs, is originally from Garfield Heights, Ohio. Bucell, a right-handed forward, played collegiately with Utica College at the NCAA Division III level. He played five seasons with the Pioneers and was named an alternate captain in his final season. In his final two seasons with Utica College, the 26-year-old forward averaged .84 points per game with 18 points in his final season this year. Bucell will wear the number 2 with the Mayhem.

Henry Johnson, a 6’1″ goalie, was born in Minneapolis, Minnesota. He originally began his collegiate career locally at Bemidji State University, a NCAA Division I school in the Central Collegiate Hockey Association. While with the Beavers, Johnson recorded a save percentage of 91% and a goals against average of 1.91. In 2020, Johnson transferred to Mercyhurst University, a NCAA Division I school playing in the Atlantic Hockey Association, to finish the last two seasons of his collegiate career. With the Mercyhurst University Lakers, Johnson posted a save percentage of 88.6% and a goals against average of 4.03. Johnson will wear the number 45 for the Mayhem.

Both players are expected to travel with the team for their matchup with the Pensacola Ice Flyers on Thursday and make their professional debuts at some point during the upcoming three game stretch this weekend.
